Drawing a hundred-pitch campsite takes an afternoon

This is the part of the product nobody else has: you do not pick your campsite from a catalogue of templates, you draw it. And once drawn, it stops being a plan and becomes the screen you work from.

How you draw it

Put down the background

Upload the plan you already have — a PDF from the project, a photo of the board at the entrance, a scanned JPG — and place it as a base layer at whatever opacity you like. Or switch on satellite imagery over the site’s real coordinates. Or start blank on a metric grid. You set the scale using a measurement you know, and from then on everything is in metres.

Draw the zones

The pine grove, the riverside, the motorhome area, the cabins. Free polygon with draggable vertices. A zone is not decoration: units that fall inside inherit its rate, its minimum stay, its access type and its cancellation policy.

One sample pitch, then multiply it

Draw a pitch with its dimensions and services, and the grid tool generates five rows by eight columns with the spacing you choose and the numbering applied. For rows that follow a curved road, draw the polyline and distribute N units along it, each rotated to match. That is the difference between two days of work and ten minutes.

Number it last

Select a group and apply the pattern: A1 to A20, 101 to 140, a prefix per zone. The editor warns you about duplicate numbers, units that fall outside their zone, and units left without a rate — which is the only thing that blocks publishing.

Add what you do not sell

Reception, toilets, pool, restaurant, roads, barriers. They generate no direct revenue, but a guest choosing a pitch on your website wants to know which one is far from the toilets, and you will want to know which pitches near the pool sell themselves.

The map as a control panel

Same geometry, different reading. Each unit is coloured by its status today, or on whatever day you pick.

Actions without leaving the map

Click a pitch and from its own record you check the guest in, take payment, add a charge, open a fault report, or move a guest to another pitch by dragging, with the rate recalculated and a warning if the price changes.

Any day, not just today

The date picker shows the site as it will be on 8 August. The time slider plays back occupancy across a whole range, which is the fastest way to see where you will be left with unsellable two-night gaps.

Filters and search

Show only the free ones, only today’s departures, only one accommodation type, or only those with an outstanding balance. And search by guest name or number plate: the pitch lights up on the map.

Underneath

How it is built

The map is drawn in SVG up to around three hundred units and switches by itself to a canvas with an interaction layer above that size, which is where SVG starts to weigh. Geometry is stored in the site’s own coordinate system, in metres from an origin, and can be georeferenced if the campsite wants real coordinates.

Statuses for a date range are fetched in a single query, and during the day only the units that change travel over the network. The map is versioned too: a campsite that renumbers its pitches in 2027 must still be able to read its 2026 history correctly.

Send us your plan and we will draw it

For the demo we prepare it ourselves with whatever you have: a PDF, a photo, or nothing but the satellite view. Half an hour, no obligation.
